Boseong Green Tea Festival |
| |
The Green Tea Festival, held annually in May, aims to promote public awareness of high-quality Korean teas. Hands-on programs, as well as exhibitions and sales of local specialties are just some of the highlights. In May, festival-goers can also take in the dazzling sight of royal azaleas covering the entire area of Boseong.
The Boseong Green Tea Festival includes performances and experiential programs. Programs will include live vocal performances, saxophone and drum performances, and a singing contest for visitors. Festival-goers can also learn more about the wide variety of teas; pick tea leaves from a tea field; learn the etiquette for preparing, serving, and drinking tea; taste foods made from tea; and enjoy a tea facial mask to make their skin look healthier and smoother.
Boseong is the largest tea-growing area in Korea. Known as the birthplace of Korea¡¯s tea industry, it accounts for around 40% of domestic tea production. |
